It can feel like you are between a rock and a hard place in a turbulent economic climate. But did you know that in Houston, companies are hiring, new careers are beginning and professionals are ready to help you navigate it all? It starts with Houston Back on Track, the employer-led job recovery initiative of the Greater Houston Partnership.  

In a region that typically creates 60,000 to 70,000 jobs annually, we connect you to programs that best suit your career and education goals. We are not a job board – we don't offer “apply now” listings. Instead, HoustonBack on Track is an opportunity for those who seek a rewarding career for today and into your future. We connect job seekers to employers and community resources for both Spanish and English speakers.

Taking first steps can be intimidating, especially if you've spent months or years out of the workforce, or in low-wage jobs, but we are here to support you in your search for a new career. To make it easier, we forged community and education partnerships to provide access to short-term training, certification programs and career coaching.

After you fill out our online intake form in English or Spanish, we take the next steps and direct you to our partners and resources based on your indicated career interests and training needs. The partner will reach out via email or phone. Depending on your initial conversation, you may work with a career coach, take soft skills training or be referred for additional services.

You will work with organizations such as WorkFaith, MemorialAssistance Ministries, the Wesley Community Center and more. Some provide in-house training programs, while others work with third-party providers.Partners may offer wraparound services like financial planning, childcare, education, etc., to help meet other critical needs. All at no charge.

Once you've completed the roadmap you and your coach have laid out, you will connect with some of the largest employers in the region, including Cintas, Houston Methodist, Mustang Cat, Silver Eagle Houston, PrimaryServices and HCA Houston Healthcare. These employers are currently hiring candidates for high-quality, long-term jobs.
