Honoring Women’s History Month by Empowering Women to Build Their Future

With March being Women’s History Month, Houston Back on Track wants to recognize one of our community partners that specializes in developing resources for the women of our community to lead to quality jobs and long-term success, Dress for Success Houston. We recognize the importance of professional attire and interview preparation to help land the perfect job, and they help to do just that alongside you.

We refer candidates to this organization as the equip thousands of Houston-area women each year with the resources often needed to find and keep long-term employment and success. The main offerings of this program are as follows.

Suiting Program

Clients attend a suiting appointment where she is paired with a volunteer personal shopper to select a complete interview outfit. They will then be able to participate in First Impressions, which is a program they offer preparing individuals for interviews. This covers a full scope of topics and services that will help to build confidence in an often-daunting experience.After landing a job, they are invited back to continue to build a professional career wardrobe.

Job Search Program

Dress for Success offers weekly seminars taught by career coaches and HR professionals. There are dedicated teams that help their clients build networking skills, motivation, resume review and other helpful sessions to help get you placed in the right job for you.

Professional Women’s Group

This is the personal and professional development arm of Dress for Success Houston the promotes job retention and career advancement by creating a network of other professionals and giving them resources and tools.

This month, they are celebrating Women’s History Month with their annual giving campaign, Her Path Forward. With this campaign, the community comes together through corporate partnerships, civic organizations, and impassioned individuals hosting professional attire drives and crowd-funding initiatives that aim to give women access to programs, services, and tools to lead to advancement in their careers.
